What is a transfer of my International Investments due to death (TOD), and how does it work?

A Transfer on Death (TOD) allows you to name one or more beneficiaries who will receive your eligible investment account assets when you pass away.

Once your TOD is on file and accepted, the assets in your account can transfer directly to your named beneficiaries without going through probate.

This transfer happens regardless of what is stated in your will or trust, as long as the TOD designation is valid and current.
